Different Types of Camera Movement

The first type of movement is a tracking shot, this shot a shot which moves forwards and backwards. It also is used to draw the audience in or out.

The second shot type is a side ways track or crab shot. This is used to follow a character around a scene.

The next shot is a tilt shot. This is used to capture significance. It is filmed high or low on an axis.

The zoom shot is an alternative to the tracking shot.

The arc shot moves in a full or semi-circle and this is used to capture characters reactions to dialogue from another character.

The crane shot enables the director to follow the action in a vertical movement.

The last shot is the panning is when the camera is moved from left to right with a tripod.
